When Marvel started making movies after the Disney buyout we all began wondering if the Marvel movie universe would ever be united. The first step in unification has been announced!
Sony and Marvel have announced that Spiderman will be appearing in a Marvel movie before the next installment of the Sony Spiderman series. Then Kevin Feige will co-produce the new Spiderman movie and will help craft the new creative direction for Spiderman. But the Spiderman movies will remain in financial and final creative control of Sony.
This is really interesting. And I wonder what this means for the future unification of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (SMU)? Is Sony going to be the only studio to play ball? I think that would be a mistake for the other studios but we shall see!
